DONK!!!
So we popped in the car & drove down to Maryland to see Shifty, Aysema & the twins. Ben had his class till 9pm so we had to leave late and decided to stay in Baltimore the night rather than keeping the Shades up until 2am waiting on us. When the kids and I got to the hotel we were in the same frame of mind and sat laughing hysterically to “tool time” for 30mins before getting to sleep. In the morning we got up and swam in the pool for an hour which our little fish kids loved. AQ has even gotten brave enough to hold her breathe under & swim to you. The pool was soo over the top with chemicals though & my hair is definetly not happy about it.
We met the Shades for lunch and had a lovely afternoon wandering about Inner Harbour. One of my favourite places to roam. We decided to skip the aquarium and try the water taxi to Fells Point which I had not done before. We picked a bar where the kids could run up and down the warf while we had a drink. A perfectly nice afternoon.
The morning however began with a lovely interaction between the 11 anniversary Qs. Another glimpse into the “VP” status man that I am having less and less in common with…. The evening was also spent listening to him saying how lovely having bigger rooms is (when talking about Shifty’s room sizes in comparison to ours) then him calling me a selfish bitch for not wanting to move closer to work. I said “selfish? Do you know where I WOULD LIKE TO RAISE MY KIDS???” “he just responded that the commute time was a problem he could easily fix. At that point I decided that a screaming match on our anniversary in someone elses house would not be a good choice and went downstairs. Happy Anniversary to me!! Sighing loudly…
Sunday the boys went to a concert near DC and the gals n kids stayed home. We had a nice warm morning on the deck with the kids splashing in their paddling pools and hot tub. The kids loved it and of course the first thing the asked Daddy was “could they get a pool. Well how about a hot tub?”
The twins went down for a nap just after lunch and I took my kids down to the park they have in their developmemt. A cute little park nicely shaded by trees. We were having a lovely time. AQ was sitting on my knee fooling around and singing. She had just left when I feel a huge thud on my head. I see stars and wonder what on earth has just happened to me when EQ comes running over asking if I am OK. He says he saw that tree branch fall on my head. Today I have this terrible headache right accross the top of my scull and couldn’t think of why being tired would give me a headache in such a wierd spot… lol. After that I wasn’t brave enough to stay seated under the tree and felt like veging out and feeling sorry for myself. So went back to the Shades to hang in the basement and watch a movie. When the kids woke up we were back out on the deck to the pools.
Aside from the painful hit to the head it was a pleasant day. The kids went to bed around 7.30pm then A. & I watched “Black Snake Moan” which I thought was great. I went to bed to get in some sleep before the boys got home at 2am then got up and drove through the night arriving home at 6am. I managed to convince the kids to sleep for 2 more hours which was a relief and aside from my painful head I feel pretty good.
The twins have grown so much. It was so nice to see them again. They still have their wonderful huge eyes and looooong eyelashes that are so photographic.
OK kids are about done with thier lunch. Guess I should get to figuring out something to entertain that does not hurt my throbbing head.
