A lovely morning…
Got up kinda early this morning and decided to tackle the raspberry bush. It has had 4 years now and still we have not gotten a single berry before the birds. It just looks messy where it was so time to come out. (It was a random seed from the bush we actually planted down the back further which we do get berries from). It was quite a challenge to get it out but I won in the end. The kids came to see what I was up to and decided it was a good opportunity to go and pick the berries from the other bush. It is so cute to watch them pick the berries. They get so excited and the boys pick the higher ones for AQ that she can’t reach. EQ gets a stick and pulls the berries closer with it. Clever that one.
While watching the kids I discovered that a nasty prickle vine had taken over next to the raspberry bush and was fast encrouching on the back yard. It clearly has been bothering the lawn guys as the lawn is mowed in wide births around it. lol. So I tear that out - not an easy task. Meanwhile the kids decided to make traps for animals in the yard. It was very cute. They dig little holes then run about gathering sticks and place them on top. I am so proud of my mud loving kids. They play so nicely when running about in the wild together. Put em inside with all their plastic junk and it is a fighting jungle… perhaps we should just become gypsies and live in the forest
