So I took the kids to the Denville Firemen’s Carnival again this year. We met Rosemary and Anthony and their kids there. I think the last time we went was with Goupa 2 years ago?? Anyway the rides were a tonne more expensive this year and it wasn’t nearly as fun because of it. But the kids were having a great time. The adults started feeling the pain of the money flying out of our wallets (3 kids each the rides were getting VERY pricey) when we heard “The margaritta tent has opened up” What a great idea!! So off we went and took a break while we sipped on an icy cold margaritta. Considering it was 98 degrees out and every single person was DRIPPING in sweat it was a most pleasant experience.
The kids ran about a bit while we sat and sipped and along came the raffle sellers. I went off and bought 2 tickets, one for me one for the L family. Sipping, sipping and more sipping… the raffle number is announced, “Hey Rosemary that number sounds familiar check your ticket.” “Wait I think it is mine, Anthony check this for me. OMG it is mine!!!” So off I went to the winners tent expecting $300 and being quite chuffed. Turns out it had gone all the way up to $554!! WOOHOO!! So I bought more tickets and the kids got to do a few more rides before the fireworks. I have been quite lucky this year. BQ has demanded I start buying lottery tickets coz I really do keep winning silly stuff. So I am handing over my winnings to BQ as payment for my bike which was an unexpected expense this year that I have really enjoyed.
I think I will buy a lottery ticket tommorrow. Let you know how it goes
The fireworks got rained out. Really strange weather today. It keeps storming and dropping a few degrees but then it pops right up. The thunder is crazy too. BQ says there are trees down near work. Just checked weather, there are severe thunderstorm warnings out for our area. Woa I just read this:
“THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH…PREPARE IMMEDIATELY FOR DAMAGING WINDS…DESTRUCTIVE HAIL… AND DEADLY CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER… PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING BUT AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

IN ADDITION TO LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS…CONTINUOUS CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM. MOVE INDOORS IMMEDIATELY! LIGHTNING IS ONE OF NATURES NUMBER ONE KILLERS. REMEMBER…IF YOU CAN HEAR THUNDER…YOU ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO BE STRUCK BY LIGHTNING.”

OK so I was just outside in this along with about 1000 other people. Ooops.

The kids are so filthy but I changed them out of their wet clothes and threw them in bed anyway. I couldn’t wake them up enough to shower them. Poor things.
ZQ is still doing just GREAT on his schooling. We are both enjoying it and the other 2 are getting used to the routine too. I give them stuff modified to do and they try it and then run off to play. They are hurting for a bit of attention but we are getting it to work. I am photocopying everything so that I can reuse the ciriculum for them.
My sink went in today, with the copper sink (as in the upstairs bathrooms and bar sink, copper everywhere. I love copper) and looks lovely. Now I just have to get the faucet attached. Something I will be leaving to BQ to handle. I let the kids pick it as all of the faucets we could choose from I liked but knew BQ would hate so I let them pick so that he will soften up about it. lol. The room looks bigger - which it REALLY needs, can’t get a smaller powder room! I mean it is barely a closet. I would take a picture but there is a slight problem, I HAVE NO CAMERA! I felt so naked tonite. (Should arrive tommorrow.)
So now we are down to the cubboard doors in the upstairs bathrooms (have to be custom ordered) and the floor in the upstairs hall (that the contracters ruined) and then FINALLY the project will be complete. If I win the lottery perhaps!! lol.
Well I made sheppards pie for early dinner tonite (to stuff kids up so they weren’t begging for junk) so I best get to cleaning. I love fish and love cooking it for the kids (the gobble it) but it is soooooooooooo stinky.
Did I mention I won?? lol I am stoaked. Feel like dancing a wee jig. Actually I have to say I had the loveliest people with me. Anthony and Rosemary were as chuffed for me as I was about it. I love that. BQ is so poker face about everything, it was nice to be with excitable people. (more like my crazy self)
Cleaning, got to go clean… is there ever an end to it?

So I just had a thought. Being that I was born on 7/7/76 and 7s and 6s seem to be my lucky numbers… today is 6/27/07 and my raffle ticket number had 6s and 7s. Wierd. I am definetly buying lottery tickets for the Saturday drawings on 7/7/07!!! Gotta be a winner. So if you don’t hear from me in July it is coz I ran off on a world cruise… lol Dreams are free.
