Was it a bird? Was it a plane? Was it Superman? No, that thing that just flew by was Spring. Thats right, snow last week, Spring Flood 2007 Monday and today, FINALLY we acutally were blessed with tshirt appropriate weather!! But it seemed clear that was our Spring, it feels like it is going to shoot right up into Summer again this year.

Such a lovely, lovely, lovely day. The entire Street was out enjoying it. Everyone ecstatic about the burst of warm. Not to mention the promise of drying up some of that flood water!

So Monday we had spectacular rains which ended in about an inch of water in the basement before we could get the sump pump working. It was quite exciting. I had to spend the day moping. That will teach me for thinking about Spring cleaning the basement!! HA! HA! Now I have to!! lol. The kids were running around in their gumboots “helping” out with the water rescue. It was really quite comical despite the whole “OMG there is water in our house thing”.

After we finally got it cleared up we took a walk out back to see the river which was now IN our yard on both sides. The kids of course waded in “just to our gumboots Mum” yer right. Both boys up to their hips and AQ falls flat on her face 2 minutes later… The kids think flooding is just great and wish it would happen more often.

I went to look at some more rental properties today. THEY had some flooding issues. Some of the places we looked at today were great but the math still doesn’t work out. I can’t figure out how people do it. The rent will just cover the mortgage and the taxes, none left for repairs etc. Will keep reading.

I got the garage cleaned out today. I have officially reclaimed it from construction crisis now. Every nook and cranny cleaned out and my car is actually back in there. A bit of trash to dump tommorrow then it will be almost our own again.

The other night poor AQ fell asleep at the table waiting for her brothers to finish dinner - see pictures.

EQ has gotten amazing on his 2 wheel bike NO training wheels. He is so determined. Has had many falls and never stops.

I had a meeting with the volunteer co-ordinator yesterday. She is lovely. I got a gift for 5 years of volunteering. I can’t believe it has been 5 years!

Well I am exhausted. Off to sleep.
