Monday, 23rd May, 2006… HAPPY BIRTHDAY AQ!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO AQ (and Goupa)!! Happy Birthday my sweet girl. Until I met you I never even knew I could handle living with another female. I had no idea how wonderful having a girl would be. Thank you for coming into my life and blessing me with your sweet smile. I love you.
We had a lovely day.

I stayed up late last night trying to put together the car for AQ which it turns out is a factory reject and has to be returned. (Thank goodness for costco’s fantastic return policy) Which I think is actually a blessing as now I can get her something wooden or metal instead for christmas. We actually got the car for the boys but then they were
given the cars from our neighbour. She really likes the cars but they won’t share them with her so I thought this way they would fight over the pickup and she could get one of the cars and maybe sometimes all 3 kids would each have a car and be happy??? Haha!
I spent most of the morning running around cleaning. So I weakened and got the kids fries for lunch. They ate them out on their furniture out on the deck and were thrilled. AQ was so thrilled that she skipped her nap. The boys “helped” me bake the cake and AQ actually turned up her nose at cake batter!
I sent BQ an invitation to a private birthday party at home this evening. Meaning that as it fell on a game night he must show up and not have the game on. So he brought one of his gamer buddies home with him instead!!! lol. Actually Al is an old buddy pre-gaming and the kids love him so I guess it is ok. They came home early so BQ could spend some time with AQ. It was very sweet.
Having not planned for company for dinner I had to go to the store. AQ was in a
particularly “grin at everyone” mood and people kept stopping to chat to her. When they would ask her age I would say “1 today” and she actually had 3 people sing happy birthday to her in the store! She is a charmer.
She finally lost the sleep battle on the way home. The boys were all out in the woods when we got home so I got to cook dinner without having to tend to anything but dinner! It was really wierd.
We had a lovely dinner. The cake was a big hit. AQ especially loved dipping raspberries in the choc icing and stuffing them into her mouth 3 at a time. The cake was a great recipe. Much like a brownie. I don’t usually like choc cake but this came out great. Making it with coconut oil instead of butter makes it REALLY good.
EQ had an accident outside so came in for a shower. He was up at the counter with me while I finished up dinner and icing the cake. I look at him at one point and discover he has eaten what was left of the icing. EEEEKKK!!! That was no small
ammount of choc icing that kid ate!
AQ opened her presents after dinner. She loves the cooking stuff. We sat around eating wooden food for the evening.
When trying to put all children to bed the boys were pretty wreaked but AQ was high as a kite on choc so she played downstairs until 10pm with her pots and wooden food. I am not sitting between Al and BQ listening to them game - YUCK!
The boys were lovley about AQs birthday. ZQ woke us up with “it’s AQs birthday!!!” As soon as she opened her eyes he yells “Happy birthday! It’s your happy birthday!!” and sang to her. What a nice way to start your day! The boys sang to her all day and handled her getting new stuff REALLY well.
On a sad note, Mrs K called today. She is going into assisted living and will not need us to shop for her anymore. She was tearful saying that she will really miss seeing the kids. I offered to visit her at the home. Will have to see if we can find her. She is not totally coherant at times so I hope I have the information correct. I feel so odd facing Wednesday and not having to shop for her. I guess I will call the service and see if they have another match for us.
